How to Play Word Imposter
Everyone sits together and the device is passed around.
The host enters all player names, selects a category (like Animals, Household Items, Cars, etc.), the number of rounds, and how many imposters there will be. ***Leave the number of imposter area blank to be set at random.
In each round, the device secretly gives a word to every player:
- Most players (Crew) get the same word.
- A few players (Imposters) get a different word.
Players cannot show their word to anyone. Each player only sees their word once.
After everyone knows their word, players must talk, ask questions, and describe their word carefully without saying it directly.
The goal is to figure out who the Imposters are!
- Crew members will try to spot who seems “off” or unsure.
- Imposters will try to blend in and not get caught.
At the end of the discussion, players vote on who they think the Imposters are.
Next round starts with new words and new Imposters.
Why it’s fun: Everyone knows the category, so the words are simple and familiar (like “Chair”, “Lion”, “Car”). It’s about how you describe your word and how well you can act natural if you are the Imposter.
